With a rich background in industry restructuring and regional development, Pavla Bruskova has been involved in the cluster concept development in the Czech Republic since its beginnings in 2002. Based on the pilot cluster study carried out in the Moravian-Silesian Region, she launched the first Czech cluster organisation in the machinery sector in 2003; took part in the preparation of the National Cluster Strategy 2005-2008; carried out cluster mapping and facilitation of several cluster initiatives and assisted the establishment of a number of cluster organisations. As the CEO of the Regional Development Agency in Ostrava she initiated ClusterNet, the regional cluster platform in 2006 and Regional Innovation Strategy in the Moravian-Silesian Region in 2009-2010.

Since 2010 she has been the President of the National Cluster Association with 25 corporate members, out of which 18 are cluster organisations (www.nca.cz). As the member of a research team at the Centre for Applied Economic Research, Faculty of Management and Economics at the Tomas Bata University in Zlin, she is a co-author of Certified Methodologies for Regional and National Cluster Policies. She takes part in a number of European cluster and innovation projects, such as the strategic “CluStrat” project of Central Europe (2012-2014). As a cluster expert, she provides consultancy and training for cluster stakeholders, facilitators and cluster managers internationally.

Daniel Alexandru Cosnita

Graduated both as an engineer and economist, Daniel Cosnita has been working in the last 15 years in the fields of technology transfer and innovation and of regional economic development. Since 2008 he has been supporting the Romanian Ministry for Economy in the generation of the national cluster policy, by performing the cluster mapping exercise at national level, contributing to the elaboration of the Guide of Applicants of the financing schemes dedicated to the poles of competitiveness etc. Currently he is a member of the team of experts supporting the Ministry of Education and Research in the elaboration of the Smart Specialisation Strategy of Romania. He acted as a consultant for the Algerian government in setting up a national network of business incubators and for the Turkish government in the elaboration of the national cluster strategy. He has generated and managed numerous clusters and has an extensive experience national and international projects - especially FP6, FP7, Horizon 2020, INTERREG. Since 2011 he is a member of the Export Council of Romania.

Željko Erkapić is currently holding the position of CEO in Agricultural Equipment Cluster Ltd (AEC) and he is member of the board of the two national clusters i.e. Croatian Competitiveness Cluster for food processing sector and Croatian Competitiveness Cluster for Automotive sector. Project of founding Agricultural Equipment Cluster was initiated within Croatian Employer's Association by founding National Centre for Clusters in the beginning of 2007 which included another 4 cluster initiatives apart from Agricultural Equipment Cluster. Working on that project in structuring and organizing the cluster almost for two and half years, Agricultural Equipment Cluster separated from National Centre for Clusters in July 2009 and formally was registered as Limited Liability Company. Before coming to current position, in his career Željko worked in several distinguished firms mainly as CEO or commercial manager. His prior education is primarily focused on economics as he graduated the Foreign Trade Faculty at Zagreb University. He also has a great deal of experience in export and import businesses. In recent years, and after 20 years of experience in the field of economy, he graduated at the postgraduate program of Entrepreneurship at University of J.J. Strossmayer in Osijek. Željko is also active in a scientific project ‘Gaining economic prosperity by strengthening regional competitiveness’ started by Faculty of Economics in Osijek. He coauthored several scientific studies at the same faculty. Also from 2009 to 2014, Željko has actively participated as a lecturer at Public Relations and Media Studies Graduate School ‘Kairos’ in Zagreb teaching introductory program called ‘Entrepreneurship Basics’.

Natasha Sivevska is technology textile engineer with 22years experience in textile sector. She has involved in the field of export activities, lobby and advocacy, market research and project development. Since 2005 she holds the position of executive director of the Textile cluster and with her expertise she contributes for fulfilling the cluster primary goal: improving companies’ competitiveness, thus registering world trends in global market. Her professional career has included activities in the Cluster as organizing seminars and trainings, B2B events and Buyers missions, fair participation and match making activities, as well as negotiation and lobby with Government institutions. She successfully managed three cross border and four international IPA projects as well as several regional projects, often actively involved in 3-4 projects at the time. She has organized and participated in over 50 buyer missions, B2B events, fair presentations, conferences, fashion shows and seminars mostly abroad, were she successfully presented the Macedonian textile industry and its production possibility.

As executive director of the Textile cluster, she is member of the NECC (National Entrepreneurship and Competitiveness Council) where she presents and actively works on initiatives for policy measures and law improvements. Also she is a Member of the Textile committee in the Macedonian Institute for standardization, working on implementation of European textile standards. On a base of her great expertise in the textile sector, she was involved in creation of the Strategy for development of Macedonian textile industry and the action plan for its revitalization, ordered by the Ministry of economy.

Irena Rezec has vast experience in delivering expertise and implementing complex assignments which focus on:

-          SME development and related business support services;

-          Private sector and regional competitiveness through strategic management and organization, internationalization and networking/partnering/clustering approaches;

-          Local and Regional Economic Development;

-          ICT, advanced information, knowledge and intelligence based services and tools for all the above mentioned domains;

-          Monitoring of future trends for all the above mentioned domains.


She began her career in the private sector – in software development companies and IT departments. She joined the Ministry of Economic Affairs – Small Business Department (in 1993) and later on the Small Business Development Centre as the Euro Info Centre’s Manager where she became familiar with SME development and business support offered either on a local, regional, national or EU level. Since 2002 she is the managing director of WOTRA, a private company, and has been continuously involved in the EU and other projects worldwide in her areas of expertise in the role of senior expert, project manager, team leader, trainer, evaluator, and reviewer. At the same time, she has been investing a great deal of effort in supporting private initiatives which are connected with collaboration/partnership/networking/clustering models, methodologies and tools, i.e. with the optimization of the existent business collaboration models of her/WOTRA’s clients and the development of new, innovative ones.
